Ugochinyere Somtochukwu Onyewuenyi aka Bubbles on Tuesday 25th June, 2019 emerged the winner of the inaugural edition of Lady Amarena Nigeria Competition, a contest specifically for female bartenders and mixologist who are citizens of Nigeria to show their craft in recipe creation.
Over one thousand contestant applied but only ten made it to the grand finale which was held, at the legendary Freedom Park in Marina, Lagos.
The ten contestants who made it to the final in Lagos are Funmi George, Ngozi Obiajulu, Soleye Abimbola Adeyemi, Ruth Njoku, Ugochinyere Somtochukwu Onyewuenyi .
Others are Omobolaji Bamgbopa, Adeola Oni, Enitan Songonuga, Doris Job Achile, Ifeyinwa Tamuno-Okere
The contestants were later reduced to five from where Bubbles emerged. The final five were Funmi George, Soleye Abimbola Adeyemi, Ugochinyere Somtochukwu Onyewuenyi, Enitan Songonuga and Ifeyinwa Tamuno-Okere.
Enitan eventually picked the prize for the first runner-up, while Ifeyinwa was named the second runner-up.
Ugochinyere Somtochukwu Onyewuenyi aka Bubbles, winner of the competition, went home with a Vitamix Commercial Blender worth over N700,000, branded Fabbri items and packs of Fabbri Syrups (Mixybar) and the Star prize of an all-expense paid trip to Bologna, Italy where she will compete against bar ladies/mixolgist from around the world at the global final of the Lady Amarena Competition.
All other contestant received goodie bags and gift items for their participation in the final of the Lady Amarena Competition, 2019. There was no registration fee to enter for the competition in a bid to be all-inclusive and to prevent financial restraints on the part of young ladies who are truly deserving of the ultimate title.
